A highly reputable SEN School Group in Essex is seeking a dedicated and passionate Food Technology Teacher to join their dynamic team from April 2025. As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons, tailored to the needs of students with varying levels of ability. You will create a positive learning environment, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to thrive and develop practical life skills. The role involves designing and delivering a curriculum that promotes food education, health, and well-being, while supporting students' individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons to students with Special Educational Needs
Creating individualized lesson plans and resources that cater to diverse learning styles
Assessing and tracking student progress, providing feedback to support improvement
Collaborating with other staff members to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures
Contributing to the wider school community and participating in extracurricular activities when required
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related subject
Experience teaching Food Technology in a school environment, preferably with SEN students
Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and learning techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team
Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Ability to assess and adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students
Passion for food education and a desire to inspire students to develop practical life skills
Desirable:
Experience working in an SEN or special school environment
Knowledge of the current curriculum and exam specifications for Food Technology
Relevant safeguarding and child protection training
