Job Summary
The post holder will provide support and have responsibility to ensure the smooth and efficient administration of the Integrated Speech and Language Therapy Service, upholding professionalism and confidentiality in their role. The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of Speech and Language Therapy systems. This will include management of information, records, calendars, databases, correspondence and reports. The ability to manage your own workload, be highly organised and to use initiative is essential in this role and follow clear instructions.
Good written and verbal communication skills are vital for this position, as the post-holder will be the first point of contact for families, and other professionals/agencies. The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships within a large team, across the organisation and with external organisations is vital. A willingness to support services in offsite locations is essential (will require you to rotate amongst sites).
Main duties of the job
* To work closely with colleagues within the Children's Therapy Administration team providing a wide range of administrative functions for the Department.
* To provide good friendly service within the Department to patients and therapists using excellent communication skills.
* To maintain efficient and regular filing and dealing appropriately with correspondence.
* To assist in the booking and sending out of Speech and Language Therapy appointments to children and their families.
* Being first point of contact with service users, through answering phone calls and emails.
* To support and assist therapists with various projects including research and collation of information for caseload audits, creating new therapy tools and making of resources.
* To assist with the maintenance of specialist therapy equipment and test materials, including expensive communication aids.
* Maintaining and auditing stationery and stock levels, and placing replenishment orders.
* To contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
* EHCP's -(Educational, Health and Care plan) Supporting the coordination and delivery of EHCPs, ensuring compliance and high-quality service.
* Handling and processing general referrals.
* Coordinating work across the 4 sites where needed.
