Home to work that matters, and you can be a part of it.Job summary/PurposeContribute to the delivery of an effective Health, Safety and Environmental support function to Taylor Wimpey Cladding and to assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the company’s HSE management system.Primary ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation of HSE policy, procedures, best practice and disciplines throughout TW Cladding and maintain an ethos of continuous improvement in HSE.Provide professional advice and guidance to the TW Cladding Management Team and the Technical, Commercial and Production Teams to enable the effective implementation of the TWUK HSE management system. Provide support to TW Claddings Principal Designers and CDM Support Advisors with regards to the implementation of the CDM Regulations. Participate and attend CDM Key Stage Meetings (Concept, Pre-Tender and Pre-Start)Hold regular meetings with TW Cladding Technical, Commercial and Production Teams Confirm TW Cladding is ready to start a new site by completing the necessary Client Checklist Part A and Site Start Authorisation, then once started on site arrange or carryout a Client Checklist Part B site visit Carry out internal HSE training as required and where appropriate facilitate the HSE training carried out by external organisations.Support the TW Cladding Commercial Team with the vetting of new or ‘high-risk’ Principal Contractors/Contractors and with the preparation of appointed Principle Contractors or ‘high-risk’ contractors for site start. Liaison with your Site HSE Advisors responsible for carryout the necessary Client HSE Site Visits and associated support to operating sites. Ensure that they receive the necessary support, guidance and encouragement to ensure success.Review the Site HSE Advisor’s Reports, monitor effectiveness and consistency and identify areas requiring further improvement or intervention.Follow up any significant issues or site problems identified by the Site HSE Advisors. Respond to site / management teams in need of support and advice in dealing with HSE issues / incidents.Attend HSE Team Meetings and TW Cladding Team HSE Review meetings.Support and mentor the Site HSE Advisors, by regularly participating in Client HSE Site Visits to monitor and ensure consistency and compliance with established HSE standards and disciplines and where necessary raise their knowledge and upstanding of TWUK HSE standards and expectations.Carry out TW Cladding HSE audits to measure implementation of HSE procedures and disciplines and ensure consistency and the cross-fertilization of best practice.Undertake or support accident/incident investigation and liaison with HSE, EA, etc. as necessary. Involve the Head of HSE/Regional HSE Manager where the accident/incident is of a more serious nature.Promote knowledge sharing and learning within the HSE function to develop and improve effectiveness.Gather statistical information relating to TW Cladding performance and present necessary reports as required.Represent and promote Taylor Wimpey’s HSE activity and performance with external organisations and governmental bodies, such as HSE, EA, etc.Experience, Qualifications, Technical RequirementsExperience of high rise residential constructionExperience of CDM and the roles and responsibilities of the CDM Duty HoldersBroad understanding of HSE processes and practical implementation within the house building and construction industry.Fully conversant with HSE legislation / regulations which impact on the Taylor Wimpey business operations.Must have appropriate health and safety qualification and have, or be working towards, membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.IT literate (Report writing / Statistics).What we offer at Taylor WimpeyAt Taylor Wimpey, we are committed to enabling you to make a home with us.
