Salary: £21,840
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract
Location: Belfast
An apprenticeship at the BBC gives you the opportunity to kick-start your career in a job you'll love. We're the industry leaders in early careers and are committed to your skills and talent development. As one of the world's most creative and technologically advanced organisations for the last 100 years, an apprenticeship at the BBC means the opportunity to learn from the most respected and experienced professionals in the business.
Are you a natural organiser? Do you like the sound of sending film crews on location, helping to set up the studios where you record shows like TV's The One Show or Radio's Woman's Hour? If you have a passion for working in the media industry but are unsure where to start, consider the Junior Production Coordinator Apprenticeship. This opportunity allows you to use your problem-solving skills to contribute to delivering world-class content to audiences worldwide.
You don't need any experience in the media industry or a CV full of academic qualifications. You might be about to finish school/college, start your first job, or want to change career paths. As long as you're over 18 when the apprenticeship starts and have a passion for production management, this could be your next step towards an exciting career at one of the most creative broadcasting organisations in the world.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
What will you be doing on the apprenticeship?
As a Junior Production Coordinator Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in how content creation comes together, from concept to reaching the audience, in TV/Audio or online content. You will learn skills including preparing for shoots or live radio studios and recordings; coordinating transport; booking kits and crews; issuing information via 'call sheets'; assisting with budgets and staff training; helping on the studio floor and ensuring everyone gets paid! You'll learn best practices from expert BBC production management teams, ensuring crews can work safely and everything is documented in line with privacy and licensing policies.
What will you be studying?
You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending workshops, tutorial sessions, presentations, and group work. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will compile a portfolio of evidence and work on an End Point Assessment that demonstrates your learning, while working towards a level 4 apprenticeship qualification. This apprenticeship will give you a thorough knowledge of working in Production Management and the media industry.
Where could the role take you?
On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for roles such as Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary, or Production Coordinator both inside and outside of the BBC. This scheme starts in September 2025, and you will be on a fixed-term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship, which is 17 months.
