Haven Health surgery in Felixstowe has a multi-disciplinary team who are serious about healthcare and achieving the best for all their patients but who like to work in a supportive and fun atmosphere,we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible PracticeNurse.
Suitable candidates must be able to work autonomously and undertake all the variable duties of a general practice nurse including cervical cytology, chronic disease management, immunisations and wound care
Thevacancy is for 25-30 hrs a week; however, flexibility is crucial toaccommodate training, holidays and occasional sickness.
Within easy access of Ipswich, (20 minutes with staff parking) and supports in excess of 8800 patients from a diverse range of backgrounds. We havean established team with a strong focus on customer service and communication.We would love to hear from candidates with GP surgery experience.
The successful candidate should be able to work calmlyand professionally as part of a team. You should have the ability tomulti-task. A strong command of written and spoken English with an excellenttelephone manner is a must. Good time management skills and the ability tofollow protocols and/or instruction and attention to detail is essential. Weoffer a competitive salary and the option of joining the NHS pension scheme

Main duties of the job
All duties associated with a registered primary care treatment room nurse, to provide nursing services to patients on the practice list, including assessment, advice within the professional competence of the post holder, screening and treatment. Extra training will be provided for new duties undertaken. The post holder will work in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct.

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
Provides care directly topatients without referral via another senior nurse or doctor.
To undertake general nursingduties within the nursing team, including:
Immunisations/Baby Imms
Cervical smears
Contraception advice and pillchecks
Diabetes with Warwick diploma orsimilar
Chronic disease management particularly respiratory - preferable with a diploma in asthma/COPD.
General Treatment room duties
To work to practice protocols andguidelines.
Maintasks and responsibilities:
Provide general and specific
Health assessment and screening tothe practice population(withinagreed protocols) with referralto general practitioners as necessary.
Advise patients on general healthand minor ailments with referral to general practitioners as necessary
Provide nursing treatments topatients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreedprotocols.
Implement a systematic approach tocare, to include efficient and accurate record keeping for the benefit andsafety of patients/clients, continuity of care and professional security.
Assist with the development of workpractices within agreed policies to provide the optimum standards of care.
