Buttsbury Pre-school has been open since 1975 and is a purpose-built setting within the Infant school site in Billericay. Due to our fantastic reputation and ongoing commitment to providing the very best childcare, we have restructured to expand our business.
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues. Strong organisational skills are essential as the successful candidate will undertake planning, observations, and assessments in line with the EYFS. A level 3 qualification in an early years subject or equivalent is desired, but please apply if you are planning to or already undertaking early years training at this level or above.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise staff working within the playroom when the Supervisor is not present.
2. Within the EYFS framework, supervise the children and protect them from dangerous or harmful situations by conducting health and safety checks and risk assessments.
3. Follow local safeguarding procedures and share any child protection concerns with relevant professionals.
4. Create a stimulating and varied programme of activities tailored to each child's individual developmental needs.
5. Set up and tidy away the playroom(s) for the daily programme.
6. Carry out sessional duties as per the staff rota and cover lunch club duties when necessary.
7. Act as a key person to a small group of children, ensuring learning outcomes are recorded and profiles updated.
8. Produce a 2-year progress check report for key children before their 3rd birthday.
9. Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including behavioural or developmental reports as required.
10. Liaise with parents/carers about their child's needs, interests, and progress.
11. Attend and actively participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to the overall planning and learning within the EYFS framework.
12. Attend training courses as required and take responsibility for personal development.
13. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
14. Adhere to all Pre-school's operational policies and procedures.
15. Be a positive role model to staff and participate in out-of-hour and fundraising events.
16. Support and differentiate learning for SEND children and attend one plan meetings.
