The Southampton Centre for Research Engagement and Impact (SCREI) team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a 0.2 FTE secondment as a Communications Officer (Partnerships)., This 12-month post will lead a pilot project in which the UHS research communications team are commissioned to support LifeLab with communications outputs. The Communications Officer (Partnerships) Will Be The Point Of Contact For The LifeLab Team And Oversee a Range Of Activities Including

* Annual review produced in Canva
* Monthly blog posts
* Young people avatars
* Videos for LifeLab and Early LifeLab
* Leaflets to recruit to LifeLab programmes
* Fortnightly social media assets
* Christmas and End of Year card designs
What Experience/skills Are Needed
You will need to have excellent communication skills, and an ability to deal with complex and sensitive information and communicate key points clearly to different audiences. You will also need the skills required to meet deadlines while juggling a number of different tasks under pressure. It is hoped this pilot can build a positive and flourishing working relationship with the LifeLab team, so you will be a talented team player who is confident when dealing with project partners.,
* Educated to Degree l or equivalent level or experience
* Qualification in digital communications related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Previous or relevant experience necessary Essential criteria
* Experience of working in a communication, writing, or editing role, either in print or online
* Working with a style guide.
* Working in an office environment and using MS Office systems.
* Practical experience and knowledge of content creation and/or management systems.

You will coordinate the delivery of activities supporting LifeLab across the research communications team and report progress to managers in weekly team meetings.
LifeLab is a unique research-based educational programme. It empowers children and young people to understand the science behind their health. This informs the choices they make for their own lives - for their health now, in the future, and for their future families. More than 15,000 students from over 100 schools have visited the facility at Southampton General Hospital.
