We are looking for Senior and Principal Structural Engineers for our Cambridge office, to join an established team working with a diverse client group.
YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?
You will work with our Civil & Structural Engineering teams in Cambridge and across the UK on high-profile education, healthcare, and technology sector projects. You will collaborate with our unique specialist services teams to bring added value to the projects we deliver for our clients.
This role involves taking a lead in project work, design document production & delivery, and client and stakeholder liaison.
* Work with the client, project team, and key stakeholders to assemble a design & specification compliant with requirements, agree its format and content, and monitor and review its preparation ensuring delivery by the due date.
* Liaise closely with architects and other co-professionals at project inception to establish project briefs.
* Assist in the project lifecycle documentation - QA, CDM, Archiving etc., and coach junior colleagues in their use.
* Support team members and participate in design reviews and staff development reviews.
The candidate must have excellent inter-personal skills, with good project leadership potential capable of communicating effectively with other members of the project team and stakeholders.
WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
* Achieved, or are approaching, Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE / AIStructE / MICE), or have relevant equivalent experience.
* A sound knowledge of structural engineering principles, the appropriate use of analytical techniques and design software, and the application of Eurocodes.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in the production of clear and concise engineering deliverables.
* An interest in low carbon design and the assessment of embodied carbon to inform engineering decision making.
* Experience in the quality assurance of project deliverables including checking calculations and drawings to generate high-quality outputs.
