The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance Department. The Compliance Specialist will play a key role in ensuring that Everfield complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
This position involves implementing and monitoring internal compliance policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing specialized legal guidance on compliance-related matters including the payments sector.
As the Compliance Specialist, you will be instrumental in setting Everfield up for success, not just from a Payments perspective but also across our diverse group of portfolio companies in Europe. In this exciting role, you will be working across Payments, embedded finance, private equity, and M&A, in Europe and with the C-suite of Everfield, as well as its group companies.
What you will do:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain Everfield's compliance policies and procedures.
2. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
3. Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability in particular in the payments domain.
4. Advise the Head of Legal & Compliance and senior management on regulatory developments, including the payment industry, and their potential impact on the business.
5. Work in partnership with the Head of Payments to ensure that Everfield Payments risk and compliance profile remains correct.
6. Oversee regulatory filings and reporting requirements.
7. Manage relationships with regulators and external legal advisors specialising in payments compliance, data protection, and other regulatory compliance areas.
8. Investigate and report on compliance incidents, including in the payments sector, and recommend corrective action where necessary.
9. Ensure that the company’s anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) policies are effectively implemented.
10. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of data protection laws and ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.
11. Support due diligence processes in M&A transactions from a compliance perspective.
What we are looking for:
1. Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A legal qualification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance-related role, focused mainly on payments industry and data protection, within the financial services industry or a law firm.
3. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to payment systems, private equity, and software environment. Knowledge of card scheme rules and PCI-DSS standards.
4. Familiarity with AML, ABC, GDPR, and other relevant compliance regulations.
5. Knowledge of incoming regulation that might affect Everfield: DORA, PSD3, FIDA, etc.
6. Demonstrated track record of implementing compliance policy in complex environments.
7. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
9. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
10. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
