Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days) - (9am – 5.00pm)

Your role will be to provide a comprehensive and quality administrative and clerical
support for the department to ensure smooth running of the inpatient and outpatients
maternity service.
You will be able to deal confidently and efficiently with telephone calls directly from the
general public and clinical staff. You will be expected to produce work to a high
standard of accuracy, and be aware of implications of errors. You will be expected to
work with the team to identify and resolve any administrative issues. You will be
supported to develop a broad knowledge of the Maternity pathways and processes
which are essential to the delivery of your role.
The successful candidate will be able to show initiative, strong organizational skills, an
ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines as well as having exceptional IT
skills.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible to provide a comprehensive and quality administrative and clerical support for the department to ensure smooth running of the inpatient and outpatients maternity service.
The post holder is responsible for the day to day running of the centralised booking service for women requiring access to antenatal, intra-partum and postnatal services. They will needto ensure appointments are accurately calculated and communicated in a timely fashion, in line with the Maternity policies and procedures. The role includes patient registration, booking appointments, clinic preparation and reception cover.
At times, you will be expected to cover ward areas for short period due to staff absences. Full training will be provided to you at your induction.
This is a multi-skilled and multi-tasked role therefore the post holder will be expected to be flexible and rotate with other team members thereby ensuring cover across all areas in the Women and Children division.
