Job Title: Ecologist
Location: South of England
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking consultancy. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering ecological surveys, assessments, and mitigation strategies for a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting ecological surveys, including habitat assessments and protected species surveys.
2. Specialising in bat surveys and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
3. Preparing technical reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs).
4. Advising clients on ecological constraints, planning requirements, and mitigation strategies.
5. Liaising with stakeholders, including developers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
6. Supporting junior team members and contributing to business development.
Requirements:
1. Bat licence - essential.
2. A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
3. Proven experience conducting protected species surveys and ecological assessments.
4. Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
5. Excellent report writing and communication skills.
6. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
