Job Description Mechanical Fitters, a fantastic opportunity awaits you with a prominent end-to-end solutions provider operating in the water sector. As part of their ongoing investment in the UK-based delivery team, my partner is seeking three mechanical fitters with equipment installation experience. This role offers stability as it is a full-time, permanent position located in Thetford, covering East Anglia and the North. What We're Looking For in a Mechanical Fitter: Accumulate at least two years of relevant experience in the utilities sector or M&E engineering. Demonstrate expertise in chemical dosing, plastic pipework, and on-site mechanical tasks, particularly within the water sector. Possess experience in structural steelwork and steel product installation, if possible. Exhibit strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Possess prior experience in the UK water industry, which is highly advantageous. Be open to regular regional and national travel, including overnight stays, and occasional trips to Group headquarters in Ireland as needed. Mechanical Fitter Key Responsibilities: Conduct factory assembly and on-site mechanical installations for chemical dosing systems in wastewater and water treatment plants. Strictly adhere to Health & Safety standards, policies, and statutory regulations. Ensure the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems meet British, ISO, and client standards. Perform repairs, upgrades, and refurbishments on existing systems. Employ industry best practices and workmanship to achieve a 'right first time' installation. Handle pump installations, inspections, and general maintenance tasks. Work with various pipework materials such as PVC, ABS, and stainless steel, including welding and adhesives. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and contractors. Comply with relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work Plans, prioritising safety. Maintain daily reporting and uphold company HSQE policies for all activities. Identify and advocate for new ideas and business improvements.
