Summary As part of clinical team and under the direction and supervision of clinical staff, the Emergency Room Technician assists in patient care and mobility, data and specimen collection, managing supplies and equipment and performs both clinical and clerical duties. This position is integral to maintaining a safe environment for patients, families and staff during emergent situations. Minimum Education High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Minimum Work Experience Previous hospital or nursing home LNA or EMS experience. Required Licenses/Certifications Current Vermont State License as LNA or EMT. BLS Certification through American Heart Association. Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification (Required within 3 months of hire). Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to report patient care observations, deviations from patient’s plan of care and other pertinent information. Ability to move or lift patients and equipment. Demonstrated moderate knowledge of medical terminology. Requires knowledge to comply with federal, state, and local statutes and regulations as they apply. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite of programs. Ability to utilize multiple internal and external communication modalities. Excellent interpersonal and observations skills Able to remain calm and think and act effectively in high stress situations. Pay Range: $19.29 - $28.50 PM24
