With a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence, we are seeking a hands-on, experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead our operations to the next level of efficiency and effectiveness.
Role Overview:
As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our chemical blending and manufacturing facility, including the management of our filling lines. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of productivity, safety, and quality, ensuring that production targets are met while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and optimise daily plant operations, including production, blending, and packaging processes.
2. Oversee the operation of filling lines and ensure they run efficiently, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
3. Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet or exceed production goals.
4. Liaise with customers with regard to production lead-times, capacity and order specific requirements.
5. Maintain stringent quality control protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
6. Collaborate with the supply chain, engineering, and quality control teams to streamline operations and implement process improvements.
7. Train, mentor, and manage plant staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
8. Plan, organise and manage all production staff requirements, including planning of rotas and shifts.
9. Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation in line with industry best practices.
10. Ensure that equipment is maintained to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.
11. Stay up to date with technological advancements and regulatory changes within the chemical manufacturing industry.
12. Liaise with senior management with regard to equipment upgrades and future requirements, site development and business planning.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in operations management within the chemical manufacturing or related industry.
2. Proven expertise in managing a large, diverse team in a fast-paced production environment.
3. Strong knowledge of industrial filling machinery, blending processes, and quality control measures.
4. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to implement practical solutions quickly.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
6. Proficiency in using operational software and understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of UK health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
8. Knowledge of ISO 90001 process and requirements which is currently being implemented.

Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
