Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our newly formed Projects team, working to support national projects.
Responsibilities
You will have prime responsibility to ensure that the projects are delivered in line with budget and profit expectations and will proactively manage commercial and contractual risk and opportunity. Your role will be to consistently deliver the companies “Management Expectations” successfully across all key areas, managing and supporting individuals and teams under your control to meet and exceed business performance targets.
Accountabilities include:
* Take full commercial (P&L) accountability, and contractual responsibility, for the successful and profitable execution of the nominated contract/s ensuring compliance with contract specifications and conditions.
* Develop and maintain a good client relationship, liaising closely with sub-contractors and in-house teams to deliver sucessful projects and generate new opportunities.
* Support estimating and work winning activities as required.
* Review and understanding of tender documents highlighting key aspects, requirements and areas of risk together with mitigation.
* Analyse tender information and organise quotations from external suppliers/sub-contractors and resolve any queries that arise including technical and commercial compliance.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a successful track record within the construction / refurbishment project environment, and demonstrable experience in project commercial management with Mechanical and Electrical / Fabric knowledge.
Other requirements include;
* A proven track record commercially managing a portfolio of concurrent refurbishment and alteration projects up to c£2m in value
* Degree qualified or relevant HND / HNC
* Proficient in all forms of Microsoft office
* Ability to produce accurate and timely commercial reports, CVR’s, cashflows and forecast reports.
* Good contractual knowledge (JCT & NEC forms of contract)
* Good understanding of CDM Regs and the role, duties and obligations of the principal contractor
* Experience of procuring multi trades works packages via supply chains.
* Detailed commercial, financial and project knowledge of multi-discipline contracts;
* Excellent Customer Service Skills – ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
* Ability to confidently deliver presentations to key stakeholders, facilitate workshops and meetings
