Landfill Gas Engineer
Bristol with regular travel to Swansea and ad hoc travel to Kent (for this reason, a full UK driving license is a mandatory requirement for this role)
Basic Salary + Bonus:

You will be required to take part in a “24 hour on-call rota” however, this will only be 1 in 4 weekends, based on the current structure of the Team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and ensure that all sites are compliant with current legislation (including environmental legislation).
* Ensure the completion of day-to-day operations and maintenance, including but not limited to, fault diagnosis, location, and rectification.
* Complete planned maintenance and breakdown response on the gensets/gas plant in ways that minimise downtime.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continuous enhancement of personal skills and knowledge.
* Work with internal and external specialists in ways that resolve technical issues and concerns.
* Ensure cost-effectiveness and avoid unnecessary expenditure by using the knowledge, skills, and tools available from within the Company.
* Demonstrate a commitment to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental practices and always promote compliance to the required policies and processes etc.
* Always ensure compliance with the Company’s protection procedures and take a pro-active approach to monitoring, reporting, and auditing.
* Manage own time and travel effectively, and pro-actively manage costs.
* Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Company’s operations and maintenance standards, procedures, manuals, and stock systems.
* Execute generator and gas field maintenance.
* Maintain and repair all mechanical and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at specified LFG facilities.
* Maintain and inspect LV electrical equipment.
* Commission/exchange generators and all associated equipment (ranging from the generator to the telephone line.)
* Work on and monitor the gas field to maintain gas control and sustainable fuel sources for the generators.
* Provide 24-hour emergency call out cover to respond to generator set failures when necessary.
* Complete air emissions monitoring and environmental spill control using spill control equipment.
* Compilation and completion of on-site jobs raised by site audits.
* Ensure company vehicles in your care are maintained to manufacturers specification and in keeping with company policy.
Skills and Experience:
* At least 2 years of proven relevant experience in a similar role.
* An awareness of all current environmental protection legislation.
* Ability to plan and prioritise own workload as required.
* High degree of self-motivation.
* Systemic approach to problem solving.
* Confident in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to at least intermediate standard.
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a Team.
* Flexible approach to work.
* A qualification in mechanical and or electrical engineering is desirable, but not essential.
