SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time (1:1 Support)
Location: Hackney, Primary School

Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Start Date: February Half Term until July
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-respected primary school based in Hackney. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a child who has been diagnosed with Autism, ensuring they have an inclusive and enriching learning experience in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to the child with Autism on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
2. Support the child in both structured lessons and during unstructured periods, promoting their social and emotional development
3. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to deliver effective strategies and interventions
4. Help the child engage with their learning, using a variety of communication techniques and educational tools
5. Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
6. Ensure the child is safe and supported within the school environment
7. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children, particularly those with Autism or other Special Educational Needs (SEN)
2. Passion for supporting children's development and learning
3. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
4. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
5. A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or similar) is desirable, but not essential
6. A positive and resilient attitude
