Our client, a local authority in the South, is seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Manager to oversee Children's Services projects, focusing on school infrastructure. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of ensuring successful project delivery in compliance with legislation and educational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for the performance, progress, and timeliness of Children’s Services projects, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice standards.
2. Act as a liaison with local school leaders, governors/trusts, and other stakeholders, championing project delivery and coordinating various elements to meet educational needs.
3. Collaborate with project teams to develop delivery strategies and arrangements for feasibility, design management, procurement, and execution, while coordinating specialist advice.
4. Coordinate support services' input, including property, finance, and legal, ensuring necessary documents are prepared and finalized.
5. Provide client-side project management support throughout all stages of the project lifecycle for various schemes.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree qualified, preferably in the built environment, with relevant professional experience.
2. PRINCE2/PMP/RICS or equivalent project management qualification or equivalent professional experience.
3. Background in construction or project management with extensive experience.
4. Knowledge across sectors such as schools/education, legal, regulatory requirements, and non-compliance risks.
5. Experience managing budgets, resources, and funding within Local Government.
6. Understanding of change and stakeholder management principles gained through experience.
