The ideal applicant will have a passion for charity, engaging people, supporter care and bringing a creative spark and enthusiasm to fundraising events. This is a fantastic opportunity to be in role where you can grow personally. You will be responsible for building and nurturing excellent relationships with all donors throughout the hospital’s catchment area, including a diverse range of volunteers, staff, community groups and businesses. You will lead on fundraising events throughout the year and support the Fundraising Manager with their yearly event. The role will also include talking and presenting to community groups and working with wards and departments.
This role requires excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) the ability to be sensitive to individual situations. You will engage with all levels of community and Trust colleagues so will need to be able to adapt to those different conversations.
You will need to be organised, be able to prioritise, be able to adhere to deadlines, keep accurate records and change activities at a moment’s notice.
Owing to the nature of the role, you will need a flexible approach to your working hours and be available to work evenings and weekends. The ability to attend external events and functions and to be able to bring equipment with you is key to this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporter Care
· To be the first point of contact for the charity building relationships with our supporters via phone, email and letter in a professional manner.
· Maintain relationships through regular contact with donors throughout their donation and fundraising journey.
· Contacting donors to increase value of donations, retain donors and reactivate lapsed donors.
· Make improvements for supporter care, including ongoing communications to include delivery of Charity appeals and messaging.
· Researching and developing own skills in tailoring the supporter journey.
· Create compelling content for supporters including regular newsletters, Website content, Intranet content, posters and social media posts. Working together with the communications team and the charity team to deliver these messages.
· Develop ideas and opportunities to grow donor relationships based on current trends, giving analysis and donor feedback.
· Building connections with our supporters and the wider community.
· Growing the hospital lottery by effective use of marketing and social media.
Event & Fundraising Support
· Lead on engaging volunteers, community groups and companies to organise fundraising events on behalf of the hospital.
· Inspire individuals to take up personal challenges to raise funds.
· Develop and share new fundraising opportunities.
· Support the Fundraising Manager with key fundraising appeals and events.
· Work with the communications team to lead on marketing materials in the community, including internal communications (The Week), social media, community magazines and publications.
· Own a portfolio of events in the community targeting key audiences at weekends and evenings as required by the role. Working closely with the charity assistants to deliver these.
· Support Charity Assistants with internal stalls, cakes sales and bucket collections.
· Build on Gift Aid donations.
Administration
· Keep up to date and accurate records of income and activities, ensuring all communications are recorded on the database.
· Maintain communication with donors from the on line giving pages.
· Provide data and information about fundraising activities, supporters and potential new opportunities.
· Support on Light up a Life across both sites
· Work with the Fundraising Manager and Charity Assistants to co-ordinate the Give a Gift appeal across both sites
· Lead on all fundraising activity, internally and externally, ward visits, cheque presentations and gift in kind donations.
· Produce data related to fundraising activities and donations on a quarterly basis or as required.
· Accurately record supporter information on our database (Harlequin) including all communication with supporters.
· Thank donors in a timely manner, keep thank you letter content up to date and tailored to specific supporters where required
· Fulfil supporter requests for fundraising materials.
· Maintain and build our keep in touch agreed supporters.
Working with peers
· Understand the organisation, its agreed systems and working procedures (Communications, Supplies and Finance for example).
· Work on marketing, appeals, assigned projects and tasks with other Charity Team members.
· Keep track of assigned projects and tasks so as to ensure that promises to supporters are met at all times.
· Ensure a positive and proactive working relationship with team members at all times, as well as within the broader Trust environment.
Other
· Highest standard of honesty, personal integrity and timekeeping at all times.
· Attend team meetings and other cross-departmental meetings.
· Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably requested by more senior staff and senior representatives from other functions within the organisation as a part of the role.
· Promote development activities to Hospital staff at all levels and foster positive working relationships across the organisation.
· Where necessary, ensure the safe collection, transportation and depositing of donations made on or off site in accordance with standard procedures.
· Ensure that all written communication and materials produced comply with corporate design standards and appropriate legislation (e.g. style guides, document templates, legal wordings, charities legislation requirements etc).
· Must be presentable and professionally dressed in accordance with departmental guidelines and appropriate to the event in which attending.
