An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative, flexible and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to join the North Cornwall Integrated Therapy team, based primarily within the CATU Therapy team at Bodmin Hospital.
We deliver Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy in the North Cornwall locality to in a variety of ways:
Bodmin & Stratton Community Hospitals - Bodmin CATU (Clinical assessment and treatment unit) is a progressive short-stay ward with a fast-paced assessment unit. The overall aim of the CATU is to provide place-based care through an inpatient chair / bed based comprehensive assessment service for individuals who require short term medical, nursing or therapy assessment. CATU is for patients to receive their required assessment and treatment either on the day and discharge home or for an average admission length of 72 hours or transfer to another place of care for ongoing care needs.
Stratton Hospital there are 17 bed Rehabilitation beds.
Community Rehabilitation Team - working within the patients' home environment, treatingpatients with a complex and varied pathologies and presentations, including a wide variety of conditions, long-term, neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory, falls, and frailty.
The Integrated Therapy team is part of the wider Adult Community Services, within Cornwall Foundation Trust, which encompasses a number of Specialist teams as well as the Community Nursing teams.
Main duties of the job
Thepurpose of the post is:
1. To provide a high standard physiotherapy service, performing advanced assessments of patients including those with highly complex presentations, and from this formulating a diagnosis and treatment.
2. To provide leadership for support staff and junior staff through supervision and training.
3. To participate in the planning and development of Physiotherapy Services.
4. Model and deliver excellent evidence based clinical care, working as an autonomous physiotherapist.
5. To support the community rehabilitation and reablement model in line with a 'one workforce' culture across services, settings, and sectors in the community and step-down intermediate care settings.

6. Professional Qualification - Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy

Experience

10. Broad range of post graduate experience of medical, surgical, orthopaedic and neurological settings
11. Extensive post-registration experience
12. Comprehensive experience of working as an physiotherapist with patients with complex conditions
13. Experience of co-ordinating and delegating tasks to others within a team
Desirable
14. A broad range of clinical experience in a variety of community and inpatient settings.
15. Experience of providing regular supervision for junior team members
16. Participation in clinical audit/research activity
