As a Practice Bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in transforming our clients' financial processes. After onboarding new clients, you'll assess their current systems, identify weaknesses, and implement proven strategies to enhance the quality and accuracy of their financial data. You will document financial processes for new clients, ensuring a smooth handover to colleagues when needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for migrating accounting data from various software systems into Xero, managing bank/credit card reconciliations, and handling other key financial tasks to support our clients' growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and streamline clients’ existing financial processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Document financial processes for new clients to facilitate smooth handovers to team members.
* Lead the migration of accounting data from various software platforms to Xero for new clients.
* Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations in Xero, QuickBooks, or spreadsheets.
* Raise sales invoices for clients as needed, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
* Manage the purchase ledger using Dext and handle CIS reconciliations.
* Prepare VAT returns for clients, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
About You:
The ideal candidate will:
* Be AAT Level 3 qualified, a certified bookkeeper, or currently working towards this qualification.
* Have at least 3 years of experience in the bookkeeping profession.
* Have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with Xero and Dext.
* Possess a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy building strong client relationships.
* Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, making complex financial terms easy to understand.
* Demonstrate excellent multi-tasking skills, strong self-organisation, and a keen attention to detail.
* Show resilience when facing challenges and remain adaptable to changes in systems, technology, and processes.
