Reporting to the Head of Account Management, the Sales Manager will hold accountability for the development and execution of sales activities within their team to meet group targets on retention, growth and profitability. The Sales Manager will be accountable for the creation of budgets and plans for account growth, taking into account external and internal factors to the business, across multiple sectors and multiple environments.
You will be a strong People Leader who provides an environment for the team to thrive in and develop. The successful candidate will join the team at our Milton Keynes site.
You will need to be able to commute to the site in Milton Keynes and be able to travel to customers sites.
Key Responsibilities
* To effectively lead and manage a sales team and resources to deliver profitable growth in line with set budgets within the TKVA framework
* Create a culture of success, driving business and goal achievement
* Establish team and individual budget and strategies to achieve growth and profitability within customer base
* Provide detailed and accurate forecasting
* Fully promote and incorporate digitalization and automation strategies to create efficiencies
* Coordinate training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company growth objectives
* To understand and execute the ‘Materials as a Service’ strategy to maximize potential returns from existing and potential customer base, and ensure that this ethos is embedded in the actions of the sales team
* Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of products distributed, including main specifications, applications and sources of supply
* Coordination of activities both internal and external to ensure contract deliverables are met
* Create a ‘Stronger Together’ team environment promoting cross functional working with a focus on customer centricity
* Supports and encourage innovation and idea generation within the sales team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Aerospace and Defence market knowledge or experience within the metals industry
* Proven track record within sales and negotiation
* Strong Commercial Awareness & Negotiation skills
* Customer Service Focus
* Strong Analytical Skills
* PC literate with a strong working knowledge of windows based applications and SAP
* Highly Motivated with a strong attention to detail
