Type of Position: Paraplanner - Wolverhampton
Pay: £40k - £45k
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Paraplanner within a Wealth Management Practice providing bespoke face to face financial advice to individuals and businesses throughout the UK. Our client is an appointed representative of St. James’s Place Wealth Management.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing high quality support to the advisor team, responding to advisor queries in a timely manner
2. Inputting of CFR documentation onto Salesforce
3. Research and analyse financial products to meet client requirements and objectives, demonstrating an understanding of the desired outcome
4. Producing accurate IHT calculations and cash flow models
5. Preparing and producing suitability letters, reports, and illustrations
6. Ensuring the end-to-end compliance process is followed
7. Ensuring all cases written adhere to the Advice Guidance framework, with a view to all cases passing as suitable first time
8. Ensuring advisor and Paraplanning Lead are updated throughout the complete process, liaising with the Paraplanning Lead to ensure the client is always kept up to date
9. Ensure that any business conducted is done in a responsible and compliant manner, meeting all legislative, FCA and SJP requirements, both internally and externally
10. Processing new business to a high standard and in line with SJP
11. Liaising with the wider administration team to ensure business processing is completed to regulatory standards
12. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of, and keep up to date with, all relevant products advised on by the practice
13. Ensuring all advice sets are logged appropriately on all relevant systems
14. Advising the Paraplanning Lead of any challenges or delays in the completion of work
15. Overseeing complex cases in conjunction with the Private Client Manager and Operations Director, where appropriate
16. Managing own learning and development, attending relevant training sessions where needed
17. Provide cover for other team members upon request as per the business need
18. To uphold the standards of the client service charter
19. Keep up to date with comms and regulatory changes (attending webinars etc.)
20. Contribution at Paraplanning team meetings
Essential skills required:
1. The ability to produce comprehensive, accurate and clear Suitability Reports using a combination of standard paragraphs and free text
2. Experience in writing suitability letters on a wide variety of topics, Pensions, Investments, Mortgages, Protection
3. Experience of preparing illustrations for numerous products, such as Protection
4. Experience of back office administration that relates to the paraplanning role such as updating a client’s CFR, making sure that client files are audited and all regulatory and company requirements are met at the end of a case
5. Undertake continuous professional development to meet regulatory requirements, both internally and externally
6. Liaise with Business Assurance (SJP’s internal compliance body) and ensure cases are graded as suitable first time on all pre and post approval checks
7. Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation skills
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
9. A high standard of personal organisational skills
10. Experience of working to targeted service standards and procedures
11. A proven track record in delivering first-class client service
12. A good working knowledge of regulatory requirements
13. Ambitious and goal-orientated

16. Experience of working unsupervised with a high level of self-motivation
17. Good IT skills covering MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Excel and back office system
