Job Overview Community Health Services is looking for an experienced nurse leader to lead on the development of Learning and Development plans and strategies across CHS, ensuring these have vision, are sustainable, resilient and above all are executed and understood by all colleagues. This is both a leadership and educator role; you ll need to be an experienced clinician with a management style that leads and inspires a team with an excellent reputation to continue to provide high quality education and be creative to meet needs both internally and externally. As an excellent communicator, you will have the skills and experience to deliver high quality education and forge new relationships and partnerships externally. You will work in collaboration with senior clinical colleagues to plan and ensure our clinical workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to provide safe and effective care to our patients. You will oversee the delivery of the annual training and development plans, covering all staff, offering a broad range of learning techniques and development opportunities in partnership with the L&D team. Support talent management and succession planning that offers effective staff development and ensure long term business continuity. You will lead the International Educated Nurse programme within CHS, working closely with the LPT Head of International Recruitment. You will support the creation of a workforce where diversity is visible and valued at all levels ensuring education, learning and development is easily accessible and gives sufficient regard to a diverse workforce. You will develop relationships with local universities and colleges to build links for partnership working. You will be expected to deliver learning and development activity, including training sessions and workshops. Oversee the delivery of the annual training and development plans, covering all staff, offering a broad range of learning techniques and development opportunities in partnership with the L&D team. Be visible to staff at all levels, provide motivational leadership and support, developing skills and competencies that will enhance the capability and credibility across the Directorate and wider Trust. In conjunction with Matrons and Sister/Charge Nurses take the lead responsibility for education/training elements of performance management (frameworks & mechanisms) and workforce planning. Facilitate a structure and mechanism for clinical supervision within CHS and act also as a clinical supervisor. Lead and implement CHS and Trust education and training strategies. In conjunction with the Head of Nursing/Deputy Heads of Nursing/AHP Lead, lead clinical practice initiatives, staff education and professional development. Support multi professional and interprofessional learning. In conjunction with the Head of Nursing/DHON lead policy development, supporting change, innovation and new ways of working for the workforce in the CHS. Work in partnership with Matrons, Lead Nurses, and Sister/Charge Nurses/AHP Leads to identify relevant education and training needs through the appraisal Knowledge and Skills framework (KSF)/Personal Development Planning (PDP) process. Work collaboratively with local Universities/Higher Education Institutions and other training providers to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of both pre and post registration education and training. Act as a clinical and professional resource for the multi-disciplinary team, patients and service users.
