About the Role

We're looking for an additional member to complement our friendly EMEA Finance team based at our Swindon office.
We have a vacancy for a Credit Controller to join our centralised team who are responsible for managing the day to day finance relationship with our largest and mid-range customers across UK&I, including management of account receivable, customer enquiries and disputes as well as identifying opportunities to improve Day Sales Outstanding (DSO) and collections performance.
The role is ideal for someone who has previously worked within a high volume, fast-paced credit control environment, who enjoys interacting with a wide range of people and developing productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who demonstrates a tenacious and resourceful approach to troubleshooting and problem solving, who is comfortable with phone liaison as well as email and MS Teams.
As a key element to the role is tracking, reporting and generating spreadsheets, intermediate level Excel is essential.

Location: This role will be based at our office in Swindon, with some flexibility to work from home (hybrid working: 2 days office, 3 days remote)

Hours: 37.5 per week

Your Key Responsibilities
1. Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including our sales teams, finance leadership and customers.
2. Own responsibility for managing customer accounts receivable ledgers including dispute & query resolution.
3. Evaluate, identify & address underlying internal & external process issues that impact DSO, order entry accuracy and customer satisfaction levels.
4. Partner with Sales organization and order processing teams to reduce invoices in query and facilitate prompt release of customer sales orders.
5. Oversee cash allocation, support remote Team to ensure accurate & prompt postings.
6. Develop and improve data flow, ensure accurate record keeping, where necessary.
7. Work with Credit Risk team to maintain appropriate limits and insurance levels.
8. Provide regular commentary and cash flow predictions to management.
9. Provide information on request to management.
10. Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Qualifications / Requirements
Essential Skills
• Significant experience in a fast-paced credit control environment.
• Experience in managing accounts receivable, collections & dispute resolution.
• Build proactive customer relationships, internal & external.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications; Word, Excel (Intermediate), Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and also in a team setting.
• Willingness to be flexible.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – written, verbal and active listening.
• Tenacious and resourceful with proven problem-solving ability.
• Numerate and analytical.
• A competent negotiator with effective dispute management skills.
• Responsive with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
Desired Skills
• Experience in the IT distribution would be beneficial.
• Exposure to blue chip global businesses highly preferred.
• SAP experience.
• Experience of customer billing portals i.e. Ariba / Tungsten etc.
• Accounting/financial studies: CICM desirable.
