6 Fight Training School(FTS) is responsible for the command and management of the(UAS)and their associated(AEF)located across the UK. 6FTS Mission is to attract talent to the regular and reserve RAF Service and educate selected undergraduates on the role of Air Power, in delivering the nation�s defence. 6FTS is located RAFC Cranwell, Lincolnshire.����

Job description
This Adjutant position is located at Manchester & Salford Universities Air Squadron (MASUAS), Royal Air Force Woodvale, Formby Bypass, Liverpool L37 7AD. MASUAS Admin support is a small but dynamic team that provides support to student members and local staff. The YUAS Adjutant is a demanding job with the requirement to be able to think on your feet and act accordingly without supervision. The successful candidate must be able to perform under pressure and provide solutions using own initiative. Attention to detail and forward thinking are particularly important. We are looking for someone with strong emotional intelligence to communicate effectively, empathise with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict.�
Responsibilities�
1. Deliver the 6FTS mission with passion and purpose.��
2. Organise and manage the annual recruitment campaign.�
3. Conduct selection sifts and interviews for student and staff recruitment.�
4. Line management of administration staff, associated performance appraisal reporting, development, mentorship and probation.��
5. Treasurer of Squadron public and non-public accounts.�
6. Representing UAS with external/internal stakeholders at meetings.�
7. Facility management and Health & Safety of Squadron Estate.�
8. Overarching quality control of HR administration process iaw policy.��
9. Welfare POC, Advanced Care of Trainees (One Day Course), Diversity & Inclusion champion.��
10. Resolution of day-to-day service delivery issues with contractor and users��
11. Assist/advise students with internal processes and signpost to relevant departments.�
12. Management of regular and ad hoc team meetings.�
13. Organisation of formal & informal functions. Attendance is required for one annual midweek formal function. Additional informal functions are optional attendance.��
14. Any other tasks as directed byOC UAS and HQ 6FTS.�
MASUAS covers the greater Manchester geographic area, and some travel will be required. 6 FTS embraces virtual ways of working but occasional travel for training and conferences across the UK (circa 2 x per year). Training Nights during University Term Time on Wednesday evenings are conducted in central Manchester. Adjutant role is pivotal to the success of weekly training nights and attendance is required but timings are subject to line management agreement.����

Essential criteria
15. Experience/Understanding of performance management, leading a team and conflict resolution.�
16. Good working knowledge of IT systems and Microsoft Office365. Particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint & Microsoft Teams.�

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
