Finance Business Partner - Forecasting

The purpose of this role is to business partner the Category Director & team, providing proactive commercial finance decision support to drive strategic & tactical growth of categories. Ensure the delivery of the net margin budget, whilst ensuring the provision of effective financial controls and processes.
What you'll be doing:
1. Accurately forecast supplier rebates for Stark UK by Brand including the identification of rebate opportunities (close to upper band) and rebate risks (close to lower band) to positively impact the P&L. Be able to explain purchases and rebate movements.
2. Business partner the Category Director; challenge on the financial performance of the category, work to identify tactical areas of growth, support the Category Director on strategic growth initiatives, act as their FD.
3. Model different supplier deal options, including scenario testing, with recommendations.
4. Create warning indicator margin exception reports (at branch margin level - PAC to SKU) for Category Managers. Include diagnosis of issues at net margin level, - Average Selling Price / Sales Price Inflation vs. Average Cost Price / Cost Price Inflation or Mix.
5. Track net margin with analysis of constituent parts (branch / screen, rebate and ECS (contract support)). Analysis by supplier and Category Manager down to SKU.
6. Provide independent risk analysis on system price realignment where required.
7. Provide internal and external (eg: GfK) financial insight to support the category review process.
8. Ensure working capital is analysed / monitored as part of decision-making process. E.g. ROI, levels of stock, creditor days (including payment deferral process), rebate payment terms, cost of capital vs. potential P&L upside or risk.
9. Provide ad-hoc analysis and interpretation of financial information as required.
10. Deliver short-term / one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with Manager.
What you'll need to have:
1. PQ ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
2. Proven track record of driving cost-efficiencies.
3. Proficient in financial modeling, but able to summarise the big picture simply and clearly.
4. Experience of working with Exec members and with cross functional and matrix structured working environments.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively.
7. A clear presenter of data, and confident dealing directly with Exec members.
8. Commercial finance experience would be desirable.
