Position Description
Are you ready to take on a leadership role in project governance and delivery? We're looking for an experienced PMO Lead (Senior Consultant) to join our flagship programme supporting a key UK Government client in Law Enforcement. This high-profile programme is transforming its legacy technology stack, including a migration to the cloud. Working within the Governance and Assurance function, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring programme governance, control, and delivery excellence. This is a hybrid role, with occasional travel required to client or CGI offices. All applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC) and NPPV3 clearance.
Your future duties and responsibilities
As a PMO Lead, you'll collaborate with programme managers, project managers, and the Leadership Team to validate changes, assess impacts, and secure necessary approvals. You'll also work closely with suppliers and third-party stakeholders, providing regular updates to both CGI and the client.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the creation of reporting artefacts to support governance activities
2. Providing analysis and assurance across project management disciplines, including RAIDs, planning, and configuration management
3. Identifying and tracking project and programme dependencies, risks, and issues, ensuring timely reporting and intervention when required
4. Defining and implementing the programme change control process
5. Overseeing resource management governance, ensuring demand, forecasts, and utilisation are effectively managed
6. Engaging positively with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain effective relationships and drive delivery
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The ideal candidate will have extensive PMO experience and a strong foundation in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Key qualifications include:
1. Working knowledge of project management tools and techniques, including planning, risk, issue management, and action tracking
2. P3O Foundation and Practitioner certification
3. PRINCE2 and/or Agile PM Practitioner certification
4. Excellent IT skills
