Haighfield Care Home is seeking a special individual who takes pride in maintaining our home and enjoys being part of a wider team. As a Multi-Trade Maintenance Electrician, you'll play an essential role in supporting your colleagues, caring for our residents and their families, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Are you a semi-retired professional or a multi-trade specialist eager to apply your diverse skills in a fulfilling role? We are looking for someone with expertise in various trades to join our friendly maintenance team. Haighfield Care Home is committed to providing exceptional care and comfort to our residents. We operate three care homes and manage a rental portfolio of 150 residential properties, offering a dynamic and supportive work environment where your contributions will be valued.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Perform electrical maintenance and repairs throughout the care home, ensuring the safety and functionality of all electrical systems.
* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV systems to ensure the security of the premises.
* Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations (desirable certification: c-tec fire alarm, nurse call system).
* Maintain and service access control systems, ensuring secure and efficient access throughout the facility.
* Conduct regular checks on electric beds, fire doors, water temperatures, and complete all relevant health and safety checks (training will be provided).
Secondary Responsibilities:
* Carry out basic plumbing tasks, including repairs and maintenance of water systems, fixtures, and fittings.
* Perform joinery work, replace hinges, door handles, and furniture.
* Undertake painting tasks to maintain and enhance the aesthetic appearance of the care home.
Qualifications:
* Desirable: Previous experience working in a care home, health sector, or school environment.
* Proven experience as an electrician, with relevant qualifications and certifications.
* Computer literate with excellent working knowledge.
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Knowledge and experience with CCTV, fire alarm systems, and access control.
* Basic skills in plumbing, joinery, and painting.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and people skills.
* Compassion and a desire to work with elderly residents.
