Workshop Fabricator / Welder
Due to expansion and growth, a permanent position has arisen for a Welder/Fabricator. Please note that the main base for this role will be Coatbridge.
The Role:
Fabrication and welding of handrails, staircases, balustrades, and structural steel in the workshop.
Working Hours:
Dayshift: 07:00 to 4:30, Monday to Friday + Overtime (Nightshift on offer at enhanced rates).
Rate of Pay: £20 per hour + time and a half for overtime.
Primary Objectives:
1. Welding and fabrication in a workshop setting - Possible site work in the future.
2. Working knowledge of structural/secondary steelwork welding and fabrication.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Time-served welder/fabricator. Must be conscientious in approach to welding and fabrication to ensure high standards and quality.
2. Working knowledge of structural fabrication works and standards.
3. Act with honesty, integrity, and accountability.
4. Ability to work well in a team.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
An NC/HNC in welding/fabrication is preferred but not essential; at least 4 years’ experience in the above role is required.
Broad knowledge of welding and fabrication operations and procedures may include:
1. Manual Metal Arc (MMA)
2. Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)
3. Metal Active/Metal Inert Gas (MAG/MIG)
4. Gas Shielded Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
5. Oxy-Acetylene cutting/welding
6. Machine/workshop power tools and machinery.
Experience working with a variety of materials, including mild steel, austenitic stainless steel, and aluminium.
