Last Energy UK seeks a Licensing Manager to spearhead our efforts in navigating the licensing process in the UK. This candidate will report to Last Energy’s Global Head of Licensing and will drive the progress of micro-nuclear power projects, and ultimately, near-term decarbonization. Previous experience in the nuclear industry is highly valued, but not required; we invite applications from individuals who bring fresh perspectives and challenge conventional thinking. Key Duties & Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership in developing and executing against a UK licensing roadmap, with the goal of acquiring a nuclear license within two years Act as the primary point of contact between Last Energy and the UK nuclear regulatory network, including the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), Environment Agency (EA), and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) Lead the preparation and quality check the submission of regulatory filings, license applications, and safety cases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness Act as the main point of contact for 3rd party licensing firms, managing budgets, schedules, and deliverable quality Monitor and address regulatory issues and concerns raised by internal and external stakeholders, and proactively identify and mitigate regulatory risks Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field; advanced degree preferred 5 years of experience in an engineering project management, or related role Strong communication skills, championing simplicity and clarity in all communication Strong understanding of nuclear safety principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance requirements Strong project management skills, including management of third-party technical service providers Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities Alignment with Last Energy’s simplified approach to regulatory compliance Well regarded/received by peers in key stakeholder organizations
