Job Purpose: We are seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Adults Service. The successful candidate will contribute to the leadership and development of the team, providing a professional social work service, including statutory social care responsibilities. You will lead, coordinate, and oversee multi-agency Section 42 safeguarding enquiries for adults with care and support needs, ensuring a collaborative and person-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver a professional social work service, addressing complex needs and promoting independence.
* Lead and coordinate Section 42 safeguarding adult enquiries.
* Develop and review adult safeguarding plans.
* Act as a primary contact for safeguarding support and advice.
* Work closely with partner agencies to support positive outcomes and prevent further harm.
* Prepare safeguarding reports for case conferences and other forums.
* Maintain accurate records using Social Care electronic systems.
* Undertake continuous professional development and contribute to policy and service development.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
* Social Work, CSS, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent (Essential)
* Current Social Work England registration (Essential)
Experience:
* Accepting referrals and undertaking Section 42 safeguarding enquiries (Desirable)
* Clear, effective decision-making and assessment of information (Essential)
* Developing Adult Protection Plans with an outcome focus (Desirable)
* Managing a caseload and determining priorities (Essential)
* Working collaboratively with other agencies (Essential)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to safeguarding and social work practice (Essential)
* Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently (Essential)
* Effective written and oral communication skills (Essential)
* Commitment to continuous professional development (Essential)
* Ability to value diversity and work across cultures (Essential)

You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non-social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.
You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.
