Do you have experience of working in ICT and Cyber Security? Do the terms threat actors, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and risk sound familiar?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cyber Security and Infrastructure team. As an ICT Cyber Security Analyst, you will be part of a hardworking, busy team supporting all departments across the council. You will help to provide a high-quality cyber security and compliance service within the ICT Operations department ensuring all customer requests, incidents, and problems are captured and progressed swiftly to deliver robust, reliable, and cost-effective ICT which meets customer needs and expectations, as agreed in all corporate Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
Your work will be varied but the essential skills and experience required for the role include, but are not limited to, the design, support, and administration of cyber security solutions including UTM security systems, email and web security systems, endpoint, and perimeter security systems.
Practical hands-on skills of cyber security systems and previous experience of threat analysis, alert management, vulnerability assessment, best practice, security standards, and a logical approach to problem solving with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of implementing high quality, customer-focused ICT services within an ITIL environment are essential.
This is a challenging but highly rewarding role that would suit a motivated, committed, and disciplined individual who will become fully integrated into the current team. You will need to demonstrate a proactive approach, the ability to prioritize workloads, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership.
A career graded position, starting at a lower grade (grade 9), may be considered which offers the post holder to study and pass a BSc (Hons) in a relevant subject and gain the necessary experience, prior to being promoted to the full ICT Cyber Security Analyst position.

Relocation: For some vacancies (subject to criteria) a relocation scheme of up to £8,000 may be available if you are specifically relocating to the Isle of Wight to work with us, or if you choose to commute to the Isle of Wight daily, you may be eligible to have some travel costs reimbursed.
