Blair West are currently supporting a multi-disciplinary Professional Services Organisation with the recruitment of a Finance Manager in a newly created role for the business.
Following acquisitive growth and a subsequent restructure, this role will report into the Divisional Finance Director, deputising on occasion, while leading an existing team of 3. You will focus on robust financial reporting with exposure to senior stakeholders and working across multiple subsidiaries.
The opportunity:
* Prepare, develop, and analyse key financial information to support business decision-making.
* Assist the Finance Director in managing the finance team, providing leadership and guidance.
* Produce month-end management accounts and year-end statutory accounts in line with reporting standards.
* Oversee financial records, ensuring compliance with financial policies and internal controls.
* Prepare VAT returns and ensure adherence to UK tax legislation.
* Liaise with finance teams across different offices and provide financial guidance to the wider business.
* Ensure compliance with sanctions and payments regulations.
* Support internal and external audit processes, liaising with auditors as required.
* Provide financial business partnering support to a sister company Law firm, ensuring accurate reporting.
* Deputise for the Finance Director when necessary.
* Perform ad hoc financial duties as required, including invoice processing when necessary.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
* A professional qualification in accountancy (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Experience in financial reporting, management accounts, and VAT compliance.
* Knowledge of UK tax legislation and financial governance desirable.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using finance-specific software.
* The ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and an inquisitive mindset.
* Experience working in a professional services environment, ideally with exposure to solicitor regulation rules desirable.
* Strong communication skills, with experience liaising across different business functions.
