Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience. Reporting to the Special Projects Operations Manager, the role of the trainee planner is vital to ensure that all works by Special Projects engineers are carried out in a timely manner. They are responsible for keeping track of works to ensure the smooth running of the department. Position: Technical Planner Location: Customer Solution Centre, Slough, Berkshire (Special Projects Division) Job Type: Permanent, full-time Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (start times to be discussed) Salary: up to £32,000 per annum, depending upon experience (to be discussed at interview) Benefits: 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays); health cash plan; free onsite parking; onsite restaurant; auto enrolment pension scheme; friendly working environment. About the Role: Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems. Allocate all pumpouts. Allocate all look and lifts. Liaise with allocated region for confirmed resource for the following week by 10am Friday. Closure of all activities and related WOLI’s. Ensuring that there are no duplicate jobs open impacting the overall mitigation figures. Liaise with WNS, Concrete/Lining Division, Civils to get work booked in and updates on going jobs. Daily update on all jobs that are out for that day and escalate to the project manager if there is any risk unable. Daily update on all works that are in progress with an ETA of completion date. Have a planned date for all FOW activities. Ensure that any work that is planned in is not by any circumstances pulled by any other department unless approved by the project manager - Escalate as required to Project Manager. Managing active jobs - raising works under P1 status, where permitted, to ensure P1 permits for first time fix are kept in place and making sure all required resource is deployed to the job email chain to evidence this between project managers and resource. Support the project manager as required working alongside their requests. Ensure that all data capture sheets are fully completed, and the data is ready and accurate by 13:00 daily for managers to be able to report on said data. Track and investigate repeat blockages and escalate where required.
