Job Vacancy: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)\n\nProspero Teaching are seeking a friendly and confident HLTA to join our client Primary School based in Portsmouth (PO2). Within this role you will be working across all year groups from Pre-School to Year 6. Applicants should be an experienced HLTA or LSA/TA willing to undertake HLTA qualification.\n\nContract Details: \n\nLocation - Portsmouth (PO2)\nPosition - Higher Level Teaching Assistant\nStart date - ASAP\nContract type - Long Term / Permanent\nDuration / Likely Duration - Ongoing\nFull time/part time - Full Time\nMinimum rate of pay - £15 per hour \n\nRequirements:\n\nExperience supporting children's learning and development\nExperience with interaction and communication needs\nExcellent communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents\nConfident in covering PPA across the school, including Pre-School\nFlexible in covering classes last minute due to staff absence\nAbility to plan support for individual children's needs\nIndependent, proactive, and initiative-driven\nUnderstanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures \n\nResponsibilities:\n\nSupervise whole classes in the teacher's absence\nUse specialist skills to support pupils\nWork unsupervised during PPA cover and fulfil reasonable requests from teaching staff/SLT\nAssist in creating a suitable learning environment\nEvaluate and record pupils' responses through observations\nImplement curriculum programmes at the whole class level\nManage pupil behaviour and assess progress independently\nApply school, national, and statutory policies in the workplace \n\nTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:\n\nHold right to work in the UK\nHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application\nProvide two professional child related references \n\nProspero Teaching is able to offer the successful candidate:\n\nFree, accredited continued professional development courses including safeguarding and behaviour management\nIn-house Training and Development Team \n\nIf you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
