We are currently recruiting for Supply Chain Professional (GFE Controller) to join Supply Chain Team.
Overview - Position Purpose
Responsibility for the undertaking of the day to day GFE activities, to deliver the operational requirements for the Telford site.
Interface with Procurement, Planning/MED, Commercial, Finance and MoD/Customer to exchange information regarding GFE orders, schedules, loan returns and related specific issues in order to best satisfy the requirements of the customer.
Apply their understanding of The DEFense readiness CONdition (DEFCON) and Defence Standards (DEFSTANs) relating to the management of Government Furnished Assets (GFX) when dealing with both internal and external customers.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
* Liaison with the DE&S GFE Managers, for all matters concerning the management of GFE.
* Responsible for the tracking and administration of GFX at Telford (and other sites as required) from receipt of issue vouchers through to disposal management in line with the relevant DEFCONs and DEFSTANs relating to these processes.
* Complete quarterly and annual submissions to Defence Business Services (DBS) in line with the current GFX contracts.
* Initiate Perpetual Inventory counts in line with current business processes and report on any discrepancies.
* Interrogate the asset tracker to identify surplus GFE, slow moving GFE, and general inventory projections and reporting.
* Provide the link between the operations, engineering, procurement and project management functions to ensure that the key stakeholders are aware of inbound GFE deliveries.
* Control of asset loans, ensuring that loan returns are managed in line with the agreed loan period.
* Manage the GFX requirements for repairable assets within the “repair loop”. Ensure process adherence both externally and within the RBSL Business Management System.
* Control the Issue transaction summaries and discrepancy reports; prepare data for KPI’s and performance measurement trackers.
* Control vehicle movements on and off site, through the GFE asset tracker, issuing the vehicle to the named individual in line with the GFE working processes.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
* Experienced at working with other functional representatives and/or customers and suppliers to meet operational needs of line management and the business, and to ensure that quality, cost and delivery considerations are factored into Supply Chain decisions.
* Understanding the roles and responsibilities within the wider Supply Chain team as this will help the individual carry out their role more effectively.
* Knowledge of Product Life Cycle Management.
* Requires a solid professional knowledge and understanding of Procurement, Logistics and Planning principles and practices, including an understanding of the impact and implications of decisions made to stakeholders and suppliers.
* Be competent with MS Office suite and have a good understanding of ERP Systems (SAP).
* Good understanding of Export requirements, including hazardous materials and Controlled Products (ITAR, EAR, Section 5 etc).
* Understanding of factors which may impact on material delivery (Shelf Life, Hazard Codes, Magnetic influence, test certificates, etc).
