You'll have the autonomy to work independently and be trusted to deliver top-quality workmanship with a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and perform detailed checks on vehicle systems to guarantee optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the installation and repair processes.
Keep meticulous records of all work, parts used, and time spent.
Adhere to legal and company standards with every repair and service performed.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure the safety and reliability of vehicles.
Maintain a tidy, well-organised, and safe workshop environment.
Foster strong communication with fleet customers to ensure satisfaction and clarity.
Share your knowledge by mentoring junior mechanics and apprentices.Essential:
Proven experience as a mechanic, particularly with engine fitting and diagnostics.
Relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent).
The ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
A sharp problem-solving mindset with great attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
A commitment to high safety and health standards.
A valid UK driving license.Desirable:
Previous experience working with commercial vehicles.
Knowledge or experience with recycled or second-hand vehicle parts.
