Your Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working alongside Specialist Tutors and Learning Support Workers in a School setting. This role involves assisting learners with their educational, communication, and therapeutic needs while encouraging positive behaviour. The college offers access to a variety of excellent facilities and partners with local charities and employers to provide enriching experiences. Duties
* Assist Specialist Tutors in delivering tailored lessons and activities that support learners with their education and development.
* Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and behaviour support staff.
* Provide 1:1 and group support for students with physical disabilities and learning difficulties, helping them achieve their educational goals.
* Encourage independence in daily activities and promote social integration through structured routines and positive reinforcement.
* Support learners with communication challenges, using specialized techniques or tools as required.
* Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, addressing any safeguarding concerns in line with school policy.
Criteria
* Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools.
* Willingness to work towards further qualifications.
* Experience working with children or young people would be an advantage.
* Patience, understanding, and a dedicated approach to supporting learners.
* A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
* A desire to pursue a meaningful vocation in education.
