Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician within our Waste Treatment Division.
What you will be doing as a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician
Your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. The main responsibilities include:
* Working on various pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves, penstocks, flow, level, and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
* Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs promptly to prevent customer disruptions, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents.
* Performing planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment in line with company standards to enhance plant resilience.
* Providing technical advice, referencing up-to-date knowledge, and supporting training for technical trainees.
* Participating in a 24/7 standby rota after training and assessment.
Location: Bicester - OX25 2NY.
Working Pattern: 38 hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities that can increase earnings by up to £10,000 annually after training. All PPE, van, and fuel cards are provided.
Candidate Requirements:
* ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
* Mechanical NVQ Level 2/3 is beneficial but not essential.
* Valid driving license is essential.
* Experience from an electrical apprenticeship with 18th Edition qualification is required.
* Physical fitness for confined space work after training.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards.
* Experience as a time-served apprentice in electrical systems, with a multi-skilled capacity.
* Self-motivated, disciplined, eager to learn, with a positive attitude.
* Ability to respond quickly to faults, understand problems, and implement solutions effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Teamwork and proactive improvement mindset.
