The Visitor and Security Services Department (VSS) are looking to recruit Access Control First Line Managers to lead and develop our security teams working across the Museum Estate. The primary purpose of the service is to provide protective security for visitors, staff and one of the most important collections in the world. To this end, we are looking for people who can lead our teams and deliver exemplary security and customer service. What are the key responsibilities of the Access Control First Line Manager role? As an Access Control First Line Manager you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of all administrative aspects of the Visitor Services and Security department. Leading a team of Access Control Assistants and department Administrators, you will ensure that administration functions run smoothly and that the security access processes of the UK's number one visitor attraction are implemented effectively, all while developing and managing your team. What might a normal day look like? You will manage your team in ensuring that all departmental administration activity is completed efficiently, including budget management, record retention, access and security clearance checks. This will involve effective planning and coordinating of resources, managing contractor vetting requirements and assisting in the handling of the departmental budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Administration and the following skills and experiences: Line and operational management. Organisation and detail oriented. Confident user of Microsoft based IT systems and databases. Knowledge of security and contractor processes. Strong communication skills. Motivating a diverse team.
