Job Purpose
The role of Turbine O&M Technician will be site-based and will be to deliver Turbine O&M contract requirements and support the delivery of major component and inspection activities. The successful candidate will be required to provide technical fault finding to help resolve ongoing issues and/or implement improvements. We are looking for candidates who have a strong technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in a turbine discipline, and with good analytical fault-finding capabilities on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Organisational Context
Resource required to deliver contract requirements and become a full-time resource allocated to the completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The technician will also assist in the delivery of chargeable services within the allocated projects but may also support other projects depending on workload and availability.
Key Accountabilities
The role would suit experienced Wind turbine technicians who have aspirations in further developing their own capabilities in the delivery of high-quality maintenance activities and are willing to contribute positively to the continued development of the business.
Be a good communicator both written and verbally and be proficient in customer interface at site level and in pre-task coordination. The suitable candidate will be comfortable preparing risk assessments, method statements, and other client-required procedures and be willing to adapt a high level of health, safety, quality, and environmental awareness.
A flexible approach to work will be required as travel within the UK/Ireland may be necessary depending on the project needs.
Other areas of knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate, which will include;
* Gamesa G5x, Siemens 1.3, Nordtank 500 experience or other turbine models
* Experience working on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
* Working knowledge of gearbox inspections (an advantage)
* Proficient in analytical fault finding
* Can assist with the resolution of onsite technical issues and implement technical improvements
* Identify and specify tooling requirements
* Preparation of reporting templates and other technical documentation
* Has worked in a health and safety-focused environment
