Job overview
To provide comprehensive administration and secretarial support to the Shropshire Wheelchair and Posture Service, a specialist clinical and mechanical multidisciplinary team who provide a service to people with mobility problems requiring a wheelchair.

Main duties of the job
* Share responsibility for reception desk.
* Be the first point of contact for service users; booking and arranging appointments, general inquiries.
* Book and plan clinics whilst liaising with manufacturer representatives and clinicians.
* Provide secretarial support for the service: managing and coordinating diaries, ordering, taking minutes.

Person specification
Training and Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
* Intermediate IT skills RSA 3 / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience of Microsoft Office packages e.g., Word, Excel.
* Experience of patient-related data collection systems.
Knowledge and Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – including observation, listening, and empathy skills.
* Ability to organise and prioritise.
* Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
* Able to take responsibility for appointment organisation without direct supervision.
* Knowledge of confidentiality issues.
* Good telephone skills.
