Job summary
The practice is currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Practice Nurse with primary care experience to join our small but friendly, professional team on a part time basis.
We are looking for someone who will share our commitment to providing excellent healthcare to our patients.
We are offering a permanent post of 25-30 hours a week. There will be a need for flexibility to cover annual leave for the other Practice Nurse and HCA's.

Required:
9. UK Registered Nurse with NMC
10. Must be able to relay clinical information and maintain accurate, comprehensive consultation records
11. IT Literate
12. Able to work in a changing environment and implement change when applicable to provide high quality health care
13. Flexibility of working days/hours
Main duties of the job
Main duties will include but not be limited to;
14. Cytology
15. Wound and ulcer care including removal of sutures and staples
16. Day to day management of chronic diseases clinics particularly diabetes, including maintaining disease registers, management of condition, referrals to other members of the primary care team or community team
17. Routine immunisations and vaccinations schedule
18. Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs, bloods via ICE
19. Contraception advice including Depo and pill checks
20. Administration of injections including B12
21. Day to day use of recall systems/processes
22. Venepuncture
About us
We are a rural dispensing practice with approximately 3110 patients. We have a lead GP and three salaried GP's, a practice manager, two practice nurses, a phlebotomist, 3 dispensers and 5 admin staff.
We are rated 'Outstanding' with CQC and excellent patient care is important to the whole team.

23. Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
24. Mentor for newly employed Practice Nurses where appropriate
25. Cytology
26. Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler
27. Removal of Sutures
28. New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
29. Travel Clinic
30. ECGs
31. Venepuncture
32. Hypertension Management
33. Asthma/COPD reviews/Spirometry
34. Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
35. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
36. Assisting GPs with minor surgery
37. Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
38. Reviews for Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception. Asthma/COPD reviews/Spirometry - following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
39. Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
40. Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
41. Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
42. Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
43. Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
44. At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
45. A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
46. Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.

Essential
48. Minimum 1 year experience within a primary care nursing team.
Desirable
49. Minimum 1 year experience in GP practice.
