JOB SUMMARY
The Robot Programmer will be responsible for completing the setup and installation of robots from a single robot to multiple robot cells. Successful candidates will possess programming capability, as well as have demonstrated experience with good troubleshooting and startup support. Promoting good communication within the robotic department as well as other departments to ensure a quality product is essential. The Robotics Programmer will ensure all equipment is in working order and will assist and train other robot techs as required.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Program robot paths, set up program structure and implement offline programming.
2. Configure robot IO (Input / Output), weld interface and program call.
3. Set up structure for robot programs.
4. Provide robotic support and training as required.
5. Develop and control program structure as jobs progress.
6. Work on Robot drawings and configurations.
7. Train and work with other programmers to enhance skill level.
8. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics and specifications.
9. Order materials for Robots.
10. Anticipate and solve robotic problems (troubleshoot).
11. Operate various tools and equipment including precision equipment (testers), megger, scope.
12. Fastening down of tooling and robots.
13. Work closely with Robotic Supervisor regarding projects, monitoring workload and deadlines.
14. Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy.
15. Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial robotic systems.
16. Collaborate with engineers and production staff to understand and define programming requirements.
17. Develop robot programs using native programming languages.
18. Collaborate with the automation team to integrate robots into existing manufacturing systems.
19. Test and validate robot programs to ensure proper functionality and performance.
20. Identify and resolve programming issues, including debugging and optimization.
21. Document programming processes, procedures, and changes for reference and training purposes.
EXPERIENCE
Essential
1. Qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering.
2. Hands-on experience programming robots ABB / Kuka / Fanuc.
3. Good understanding of IO, transfer of information between Robot and PLC, and PLC functionality.
4. Good understanding of robot program flow and basic programming theories.
Desirable
1. More than 5 years' experience in programming robots.
2. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python.
3. Familiarity with PLC programming and automation technologies.
4. Simulation experience using Process Simulate.
