About this role We are seeking to appoint a permanent post as Lecturer in Digital Construction Management to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the School of Architecture and Environment. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape multidisciplined built environment programmes, quantity surveying, construction management, and real estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering cutting-edge modules on these programmes, providing mentorship to students, and contributing to research initiatives. We are particularly interested in candidates who not only possess a strong academic background but also have experience in collaborating with or working with the construction industry. Additionally, we appreciate expertise in broader related areas such as sustainability, digitalisation of construction, smart contracts, operations management, project management, business models, manufacturing, innovation and enterprise. Furthermore, individuals with a research-oriented mindset will have the opportunity to explore their passions in digitalisation of construction, contributing to scholarly activities. This role allows you to inspire future built-environment professionals, drive innovative research, and collaborate with industry leaders to shape the future of built-environment education. About you We require candidates that have a diverse skill set and is well-versed in guiding students through the core concepts of the progressive digitisation of the industry, specifically, with in-depth knowledge of academic theory and/or practice in at least one of the following disciplines: quantity surveying, digital construction, or transforming real estate. Candidates should be qualified to doctorate level (or near completion) in a subject relevant to this post. If from a professional practice/industry background, a qualification equivalent to a master’s degree (or above) in a subject relevant to this post, along with professional/industry experience.
