Location: Royal Mail, Pond Street, Sheffield, S98 6HR. This is a Hybrid working role with a requirement to attend our Sheffield office every Tuesday and one to two further, flexible days.
We are looking for a Privacy Manager who is able to hit the ground running to manage Data Protection Privacy Impact Assessments and join us on a 6-month fixed term contract at Royal Mail Group, with potential to extend.
As Privacy Assessments Manager, you will be responsible for enabling and supporting business units to conduct formal Data Protection Impact Assessments and associated assessments. Assessments are critical in identifying risks in personal data processing and working with the business to mitigate those risks. You will also support the business in maintaining accurate records regarding data processing activity within Royal Mail.
You’ll be responsible for working with the business to complete privacy assessments and ensure we have an accurate record of personal data processing, working closely with assurance and governance pillars of the DPO Team for consistency and quality.
About You
* You must have experience of completing Data Protection/Privacy Impact Assessments.
* Good working understanding and experience of applying the lawful bases for processing under the UK GDPR and the balancing test for legitimate interests.
* Experience of rigorous analysis of complex issues and proven delivery of pragmatic solutions to problems.
* Experience of onboarding new suppliers and completing risk assessments regarding data transfers.
About the role
* Ensure that Royal Mail business units processing personal data consider the risks of the data processing being conducted (including within the supply chain), and the risks in case of a breach, and identify and adopt appropriate technical and organisational measures (as required by GDPR).
* Create and maintain compliance documentation (records of processing activities), which is vital to other work (privacy rights, assurance, privacy notices) in addition to being a regulatory requirement.
* The role also supports privacy rights, records management, and the compliance framework across the organisation.
