The Downs CEP School is looking to appoint a teaching assistant who is experienced in supporting children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs as well as trauma. This is a term time temporary contract linked to individual support, and specific high needs funding, for a specific child.

The position is for 25hrs per week, term time only, KR4, Actual Salary £13,332 per annum.

Do you have the ability to inspire children and encourage them to grow in independence and self-confidence? We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, patient, nurturing and inspirational teaching assistant. You will have experience of working with children/young people who have SEMH and trauma needs. You will have experience in enabling high quality nurturing and inclusive provision. You will be skilled in delivering a range of interventions and in working alongside parents and professionals including The Specialist Teaching and Learning Service (STLS). Support during unstructured play such as playtimes and lunchtimes will also be required.
You will need to have a high level of literacy and numeracy and experience of improving outcomes for children/young people emotionally, socially and academically. We are looking for people who are determined to secure the absolute best for each child and will work hard to ensure every child achieves everything they are capable of.
