We are currently looking for a committed and passionate individual to join the Street Legal team as an Immigration Link Worker where you will provide support to non-UK nationals with an immigration support need to end their homelessness. Street Legal is a unique service at St Mungo's that supports individuals to end their homelessness by facilitating access to legal advice and providing wraparound support to enable them to participate in the process of resolving their legal situation. Immigration Link Workers facilitate access to immigration advice, routes into accommodation and promote best practice when working with clients with an immigration support need. As an Immigration Link Worker you willl: Support clients who are rough sleeping or in emergency accommodation to access immigration advice in a way that meets their needs, work with their immigration adviser to submit and immigration application where possible and access emergency and long-term accommodation option that meet their needs in line with St Mungo’s policies and procedures. Provide support to homelessness professionals on working with clients who have an immigration support need. Support work to upskill professionals on best practice when supporting clients with an immigration support need to end their homelessness. You will work flexibly in different settings, including St Mungo’s offices or on street outreach shifts. About you To succeed in this highly rewarding role you will have an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people, or you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself. You will have some experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change. A sound understanding of the support needs of people with an immigration support need and professional boundaries. Good communication skills and the ability to work with others whilst managing your own time. Above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives. In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities.
