Specialist Clinical Psychologist - ACTS Tier 4 Pathway
Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust
We welcome diverse skill sets! ACTS is currently recruiting for a Clinical Psychologist to join our award-winning multidisciplinary team.
ACTS provides intensive community assessment and evidence-based treatment interventions to young people aged 13 - 17 with serious mental health needs who would otherwise be admitted to a psychiatric General Adolescent Unit with the aim to keep people close to home and connected to community, education and activities.
We have the privilege of being able to start treatment right away - no waiting lists - to help the young people we work with achieve their desired clinical and functional outcomes.
The ACTS team works Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
While we cover a large geographic area, the team is based at Monks Park Health Centre, HA9 6JE - there are multiple public transport links and free street parking.
We strive to promote equality of opportunity by seeking to remove barriers, eliminating discrimination and ensuring equal opportunity for both our staff and service users.
We're passionate about delivering first-class patient-centred, safe and effective care, whether it is in a hospital setting, in a community clinic or in the patient's own home. Wherever you wish to work and whatever stage of your career you're at, there's always a place for you at CNWL.
Main duties of the job
This clinical post also offers some opportunity to contribute to research and service development. Please see the attached Job Description (JD) and Person Specification (PS) for essential and desired attributes.
Clinicians from all disciplines in the team provide care coordination to clients. We are careful to limit caseload size to low numbers so that the team can deliver effective therapeutic interventions. Care coordinators have capped caseloads.
We support all clinicians to offer therapeutic interventions to other clients care coordinated by their colleagues depending on training/experience and interest.
We are currently looking for candidates who have had some experience with delivering DBT skills or more. Not trained in DBT but interested? We will offer full DBT therapist training and support you through the DBT consult and externally provided supervision. ACTS has a proven track record in providing training to our team members and supporting them to develop and progress.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
